As a personal stylist, one of my favorite things to do is create efficiency in my clients’ lives, especially when it comes to packing.
I edit closets.
I build systems.
I truly believe people don’t need more clothes. They need fewer decisions.
So much so that my first session never includes what to buy.
It always starts with what to keep, and what do you wear on repeat.
The irony is that for years, I did not apply this advice to myself.
Every trip, I packed like I was emotionally preparing for several versions of me to appear.
Including the version who thinks she might genuinely want to wear four-inch heels on vacation.

Reality check:
Two outfits get worn.
The rest comes home.
The moment a trip is booked, logic clocks out.
Vacation brain takes over.
You suddenly believe you’ll:
-
change outfits midday
-
dress up nightly
-
want options
I know better.
I tell people better.
And yet.
Vacation brain doesn’t want more clothes.
It wants absolution.
This time, I packed one set — the same way I’d pack for a client.

Same base. Different moments.
Repeating an outfit isn’t a failure.
It means you were smart.
No mirror negotiations.
No suitcase resentment.
No late-night why did I bring this? spirals.
Just clothes doing their job.

Packing less isn’t minimalism.
It’s essential if you want a vacation to actually feel like one.
I finally applied my own rules to my own life.
Highly recommend.

Life is complicated, clothes (and getting packed) shouldn’t be :-)
